The Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Carlos Kingsley Ahenkorah, has resigned for breaching COVID-19 protocols stipulated by government.
The minister whose resignation was accepted by president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was reported to be in ICU for COVID-19 related issues a day after going round polling centers to monitor the ongoing voter registration.
His action followed a massive social media outcry with many people calling for him to be prosecuted. Barely 24 hours after this outcry, there were rumours that the president had asked him to resign or be fired which probably has necessitated his move.
