The Second Lady, Samira Bawumia, has launched the second edition of the Samira Bawumia Literature Prize (SBLP) anthology, titled “All Ghana A Stage—We Move: Ghanaian Dream in Motion.”
The anthology, which features the winning entries from the latest edition of the competition, celebrates the creative excellence of young Ghanaian writers.
The SBLP, an initiative under the Samira Empowerment and Humanitarian Projects (SEHP), seeks to cultivate a supportive ecosystem for budding literary talent in Ghana. It aims to amplify the voices of young writers, providing them with a platform to share their unique stories and perspectives.
In a Facebook post, Mrs. Bawumia lauded the winners for their creativity and resilience, stating the importance of storytelling in shaping national identity and fostering cultural pride.
“This anthology is a testament to the power of words in driving change and inspiring dreams. It embodies the vibrancy of our youth and the possibilities of the Ghanaian dream in motion,” she said.
The anthology, which includes poetry, prose, and essays, explores themes that resonate with the Ghanaian experience, exploring issues of identity, perseverance, and aspiration. It is the latest effort by SEHP to nurture Ghana’s literary community, building on the success of the SBLP’s inaugural edition.
The launch ceremony brought together literary enthusiasts, past winners, and stakeholders in Ghana’s creative arts industry in an effort to promote literacy and creativity in the country.
Mrs. Bawumia congratulated the winners and said she hoped that their achievements would inspire other young Ghanaians to pursue their literary ambitions.
