John Dramani Mahama was inaugurated as Ghana’s 9th President of the Fourth Republic on January 7, 2025. Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, his vice, also made history as the nation’s first female vice president.
The vibrant inauguration ceremony, held at Independence Square in Accra, drew a massive crowd, including Ghanaians, world leaders, dignitaries and celebrities from both Ghana and abroad, all eager to witness the historic occasion.
President Mahama is returning to the Jubilee house for his second non-consecutive term after defeating the immediate past Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia in the 2024 General Elections.

Veteran Ghanaian actress Kalsoum Sinare and the stunning Jackie Appiah were seen seated together during the event.

Gospel musician and National Democratic Congress supporter Nacee attended the event, dressed in elegant all-white African attire to celebrate and support the president-elect.
Nigerian dancehall artist Patoranking along with Kofi Atta Mills, son of the late former president John Evans Fiifi Atta Mills, were also present at the ceremony.
Controversial Nigerian actress Regina Daniels and her husband made an appearance at the ceremonial grounds to show their support.
The beautiful Kumawood actress Vivian Jill Lawrence attended the inauguration to witness the historic event.
Former 2020 Miss Malaika beauty pageant winner Jasmine Djan was also spotted at the event.
Comedian Michael Blackson, in high spirits, attended the ceremony to show his solidarity with President John Dramani Mahama.
Other notable attendees included Bobo F. Ajudua, a lawyer from Nigerian artist Davido’s team, representing the singer. Radio personality Abeiku Santana and fashion icon Kofi Okyere Darko (K.O.D.), as well as entertainment pundit Lawrence Asiamah, popularly known as Bulldog, were also present.
