Lawrence Asiamah, better known in entertainment circles as Bullgod, has made a request to the Ghana Football Association (GFA), calling for support for Thomas Partey.
The artiste manager and pundit, made the appeal during a segment on the United Showbiz show, after the Arsenal player made was charged with five counts of rape and sexual assault charges in the United Kingdom.
According to him, Partey served the nation well during his time with the Black Stars national team, and now needs support from government and the GFA during his trial.
“He helped us (Ghana) qualify for the 2022 and 2026 FIFA World Cups. We are praying for him, and I believe the GFA and the government should help him. He is a Ghanaian who has made the country proud,” Bullgod said.
The controversial entertainment pundit questioned the veracity of one of the charges, where the victim claimed to have been raped three times. He boldly asked why the accuser did not report the case after the first instance.
“It doesn’t make sense to me. If someone raped you once, you should report it. That part of the story doesn’t sound right,” he said.
The case is ongoing in the United Kingdom, however the GFA is yet to release a statement addressing the case.
