ENI Increases Gas Supply Following Infrastructure Upgrade

Upgrade expected to ease power supply challenges and support Ghana’s green energy ambitions.

The Ministry of Energy and Green Transition has announced the successful completion of a major upgrade to ENI’s gas infrastructure.

The ministry announced in a communique today, July 14 2025, citing the upgrade has significantly increased gas supply from 245 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscfd) to 270 MMscfd with a spear measure to provide a reliable and sustainable power supply to the country.

“This enhancement in gas supply is a significant step towards ensuring a reliable and sustainable energy supply for the nation. The increased capacity will support the power sector and contribute to the overall economic growth of Ghana,” Richmond Rockson, Spokeperson and head of Communication, stated.

In addition, the ministry extended appreciation to Ghanaians and other stakeholders for the massive operation during the transition period.

ENI has increased Ghana’s daily gas supply from 245 MMscfd to 270 MMscfd, a step in strengthening the country’s energy security. This upgrade will likely ensure a more reliable and consistent power supply, support economic growth, reduce dependence on imported fuels, and offer environmental benefits by providing a cleaner energy source for thermal power generation. It also lays the groundwork for future industrial and energy sector expansion as part of Ghana’s green transition agenda.
