The government of Ghana has stated that there will be three days of national mourning following the tragic deaths of Minister of Defence, Dr. Omane Boamah, Minister of Environment, Science and Technology, Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, and six others on Wednesday.
The incident occurred in the Adansi enclave in the Ashanti Region, killing all passengers and crew, according to an official confirmation from the Chief of Staff on August 6.
“There will be three days of national mourning starting tomorrow, Thursday 7 August 2025,” a statement from the Presidency said.

President John Mahama is also said to have suspended all scheduled activities for the rest of the week.
In the same news, the former President of Ghana and the President of Nigeria have both sent condolences to the nation and families of the affected persons involved in the crash.

The cause of the aircrash is yet to be assessed. But reports indicate the remains of six deceased persons from the crash have been recovered.
