The Ministry of Defence has announced the official commencement of investigations into the recent Z-9 helicopter crash that resulted in the tragic deaths of Defence, Environment ministers and six others.
A statement issued by the Defence Ministry and signed by Finance Minister Cassiel Ato Forson, the caretaker minister, said the board investigating the crash is chaired by the National Security Coordinator.
Members are drawn from the Ghana Air Force and the Aircraft Accident and Incident Investigation and Prevention Bureau of the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA).

The United States is also providing advice and assistance through visiting investigators from its Air Force, the statement indicated.
According to the Ministry, the Board has been given 30 days to complete its work.
The findings of the investigation would determine what might have caused the August 6 helicopter crash.
