The Black Star International Film Festival (BSIFF) has officially announced film selections for its 10th-year anniversary celebrations.
To commemorate the celebration under the theme “The Relevance of Film in Society”, the BSIFF board invited filmmakers and directors, from Africa and other countries to submit their film entries for nominations. The board accepted submissions from 120 countries, however only films from Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, Cameroon, Jamaica, Bangladesh, Romania, Albania, Italy, France, Brazil Uzbekistan and the U.K, made the final cut.
Ghanaian directors and creatives who were nominated in the short film category included music video and film director Nana Asihene (Wrong Way), Ramesh Jai (Love & Jollof), and Eugene Appiah (Kasi). Additionally, directors Michael Sefa, Onasis Gaisie, Zoey Martinson, and Wael H. Hakum were nominated in the Feature/Fiction category, while, TWINSDNTBEG secured a nomination in the Music Film category.

The Black Star International Film, slated for Sept 24-28 2025, in Ghana, will feature masterclasses, industry events, awards and screenings of films including Water Girl (Nnamdi Kanaga), Son of the Soil (Chee Keong Cheung), and Kasi ( Eugene Appiah).
