The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has constituted an Ad Hoc Committee to oversee and monitor the conduct of presidential aspirants ahead of the party’s primaries on January 31, 2026.
The Committee will monitor the comments, actions, and behaviour of all aspirants and their supporters during the campaign period and receive and review petitions related to hate speech, insults, and abusive language.
The decision follows an engagement with the party’s aspiring presidential candidates on September 11, 2025.
According to a statement issued on Monday, and signed by the Chairman of the Council of Elders, Hackman Owusu-Agyemang, the committee will ensure that the campaign period is conducted in a fair, transparent, and decorous manner, consistent with the values and traditions of the NPP.
This decision comes in the wake of accusations that some aspirants are using flaring and divisive language when campaigning.
