Government Raises Cocoa Producer Price to GH₵3,625 Per Bag

CocoGhana raised the amount it pays farmers for their cocoa beans for the second time this season after top producer Ivory Coast increased its farmgate prices, a move that will boost bean arrivals to warehouses and ease global supply tightness.

The Government has announced a new increase in the producer price of cocoa, pegging it at GH₵3,625 per 64-kg bag or GH₵58,000 per tonne, effective Friday, October 3, 2025.

The revised price accounts for a 12.27% rise, translating into an additional GH₵400 per bag over the figure announced in August this year.

In a statement, the finance minister indicated that, margins, fees, and rates to all other stakeholders remain unchanged under the new arrangement, while assuring the public that COCOBOD will continue to look out for the well being of farmers.
