The balloting exercise will determine their position on the ballot paper ahead of the party's presidential primaries

The New Patriotic Party’s Elections Committee has set October 10 to have flagbearer aspirants undertake a balloting exercise, which will determine their position on the ballot paper ahead of the party’s presidential primaries on January 31, 2026.

In a letter signed by William Yamoah, Secretary to the Presidential Elections Committee, the party congratulated aspirants on successfully passing the vetting stage and urged them to participate in the process.

Five aspirants; former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Ken Ohene Agyapong, Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, Dr. Bryan Acheampong, and Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum will be contesting for the flagbearer role.

A number of these candidates have already begun various levels of campaigns, including regional tours, as they try to convince members of their parties who will be casting the votes.
