BREAKING: Former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings Dies at 76

Nana Konadu Agyemang-Rawlings was a very influential woman in Ghana's political history. She was born on November 17, 1948, in Cape Coast, Central Region.

Ghana’s former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, has passed away at the age of 76.

She was the wife of the late former President Jerry John Rawlings.

Sources close to the family say she passed away in the early hours of Thursday, October 23, at the Ridge Hospital in Accra.

Nana Konadu, a very influential woman in Ghana’s political history, was born on November 17, 1948, in Cape Coast, Central Region.

She served as First Lady of Ghana during her husband Jerry John Rawlings’s years in power (1981 – 2001) and was a prominent advocate for women’s rights, founding the “31st December Women’s Movement.
