The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has raided the Trassaco residence of businessman Nana Yaw Duodu, popularly known as Dr. Sledge, and the East Legon offices of Goldridge Company Limited.
The operation, which was backed by warrants from the High Court in Accra, forms part of ongoing investigations into alleged corruption linked to the Minerals Income Investment Fund (MIIF) gold trade programme.
According to the OSP, Dr. Sledge is being investigated for suspected corruption and related offences that reportedly caused a loss of about US$94 million to the state.

Background
Nana Yaw Duodu, popularly known as Dr Sledge, was arrested on September 30, 2025, over suspected corruption and corruption-related offences linked to the Minerals Income Investment Fund (MIIF), particularly regarding the management of its gold trade programme.
Reports indicate that the State lost over US$94 million due to Goldridge’s alleged failure to fulfil its obligations in trade transactions under the Gold-for-Forex and Gold-for-Oil initiatives. The CEO was detained after he reportedly failed to meet bail conditions.
It can be recalled that the OSP, in its half-year report, listed the MIIF investigation as one of its high-profile cases.
The probe covers payments linked to Agyapa Royalties, small-scale mining initiatives, lithium and gold projects, board expenditures, land acquisitions, and related contracts between 2020 and 2024.
