Show Dem Camp Presents ‘Afrika Magik’ Album

SDC's fearless experimentation with alternative rap styles shines through in poised amapiano, hip-hop, palm wine grooves, and Afro-fusion, all woven together with cinematic interludes that add depth to the album's narrative.

Show Dem Camp (SDC), the iconic Nigerian rap duo, is back with their highly anticipated seventh studio album, “Afrika Magik.”

This 17-track masterpiece features a host of talented artists, including Tems, Boj, Taves, South Africa’s Moonchild Sanelly, Ghanaian rapper Joey B, and more. “Afrika Magik” positions SDC as worthy heirs of authentic Nigerian rap music, delivering bars and social commentary that paint vibrant, nostalgic African moods with diverse palettes on modern sounds. The duo’s fearless experimentation with alternative rap styles shines through in poised amapiano, hip-hop, palm wine grooves, and Afro-fusion, all woven together with cinematic interludes that add depth to the album’s narrative.

It is impossible to miss SDC’s creative prowess and old-school pop culture references, as they pay homage to Nigeria’s film culture with an ethnographic-inspired cover art that nods to Nollywood’s vintage CD artwork from the 2000s.” Under an Instagram post the rap icons stated that the project “For us, AFRIKA MAGIK isn’t just an album; it’s a cultural document. A reminder that our stories, in all their beauty and chaos, are magic.”

About Show Dem Camp

Show Dem Camp (SDC) originated when rappers Tec (Wale Davies) and Ghost (Olumide Ayeni), both initially solo artists joined forces after meeting at a rap battle event. The duo evolved through various stage names before settling on Show Dem Camp. They’ve since transitioned into not only rappers but also record label owners, releasing music under Clone Wars Series and Palm Wine Music. They have also collaborated with several Alté artists in Nigeria as well as Ghanaian rapper Kojo Cue (Smiling), on his “For My Brothers” album.
