The co-founder of Ground Up Chale record label, Glen Boateng, has filed a libel suit against former label signee Kwesi Arthur over his allegations against the label.
Filed on January 27, 2026, the writ of summons issued by the High Court in Accra seeks GH₵10 million in damages for Kwesi Arthur’s slanderous comments posted on social media earlier this month.
In addition to the damages, the plaintiffs, Glen Boateng and Ground Up, are seeking several court orders, including an injunction restraining Kwesi Arthur from making further defamatory comments, a declaration that his statements are libellous, removal of the defamatory post from social media, a public apology, and a published retraction, vetted and approved by the plaintiffs, with the same prominence as his earlier statements.

The “Pray For Me” rapper also stated that he earned no income from his music during his time with the label, and accused Glen Boateng of intimidation and sabotaging his releases, suggesting that the label should be held responsible if anything were to happen to him.
