Ghana’s revered musical duo, R2Bees, have attained a significant achievement as their record “Over” claims the top spot on the Official UK Afrobeat Music Chart.
The track, initially released in 2017, experienced a resurgence in popularity in 2026, driven by a viral trend on TikTok. Global users attached the Afrobeat record to their videos, triggering a significant increase in streams and visibility.
This renewed success has propelled “Over” to new heights on various music charts. Notably, it marks the second Ghanaian record to attain such a feat, following Moliy’s smash hit “Shake It To The Max” featuring Silent Addy.
Featured on R2Bees’ 2019 album Site 15, “Over” tackles the messy reality of modern relationships, where break ups have become the norm. Produced by Killbeatz, the track’s relatable lyrics about heartbreak and abandonment resonate deeply with listeners.
R2Bees’ distinctive Ghanaian style and catchy chorus elevate “Over” beyond a simple breakup song, rendering it a stirring groove reflective of contemporary times.
