Rapper Offset Hospitalised After Shooting Outside Florida Casino

American rapper Offset, a former member of the hip-hop group Migos, was shot on Monday evening outside the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida.

The incident occurred around 7:00 p.m. on April 6, 2026, in the valet area of the resort. The Seminole Police have detained two individuals in connection with the shooting and are currently investigating the incident.

According to the Seminole Police Department, the 34-year-old rapper was transported to a hospital, where he remains in stable condition and is being closely monitored. A spokesperson for Offset confirmed that the artist is receiving medical care and is expected to recover.

Social media speculation quickly linked fellow rapper Lil Tjay to the incident, with some fans claiming he was involved due to their heated rivalry. However, Lil Tjay’s attorney, Dawn M. Florio, firmly debunked the rumours in a statement shared on Instagram.

“We are issuing this release in regards to false rumours that Lil Tjay was involved in a shooting which occurred at the Valet Area of the Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood resulting in non-life-threatening injuries to Offset, formerly a member of Migos,” Florio said. She emphasised that the claims are entirely unfounded.

Offset whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, rose to fame as one-third of Migos alongside his relatives Quavo and the late Takeoff. The Atlanta-based trio gained widespread acclaim with their 2013 hit “Versace” (remixed featuring Drake) and earned Grammy nominations for Best Rap Album with their 2017 project “Culture”.

The group disbanded following the tragic shooting death of Takeoff in November 2022 at a private party in Houston, Texas.
