Accra Indie Filmfest Announces Official Jury Pane for 8th Edition

Tasked with curating the official selection and determining the award recipients, the jury comprises eight professional filmmakers and industry players from Africa and the diaspora. The committee will support AiF’s mission of connecting Africa to the world and the world to Africa through cultural exchange and the promotion of both emerging and established filmmakers.

The Accra Indie Filmfest (AiF) has announced its jury committee for the 8th edition, scheduled to take place from July 27 to 31, 2026, in Accra.

Tasked with curating the official selection and determining the award recipients, the jury comprises eight professional filmmakers and industry players from Africa and the diaspora. The committee will support AiF’s mission of connecting Africa to the world and the world to Africa through cultural exchange and the promotion of both emerging and established filmmakers.

The eight-member jury will evaluate film entries based on artistic merit and select bold, high-quality cinematic works that have made a significant impact in 2026.

Omoladun Adenuga, Chair of the AiF 2026 Jury Committee, noted that the festival serves as an important platform for propelling short African and Ghanaian films with authentic stories onto the global stage.

“With each edition, the Accra Indie Filmfest has proven itself to be a vital advocate for short films, recognising them as an essential foundation of a thriving African and Ghanaian film ecosystem,” she said. “It is an honour to serve as Jury Chair for the 8th edition of the festival as it continues to champion daring voices and authentic stories from across Africa and beyond. We look forward to engaging with a powerful selection of films that challenge perspectives, inspire audiences, and celebrate the richness of global storytelling,” she added
