The Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), organised by Charterhouse, has officially closed the nominations and vetting window for the 2026 edition.
In a statement shared with Graphic Showbiz, the organisers disclosed that despite concerns and petitions for a review, the final nominees list remains unchanged after the Board’s one-week “Errors and Omissions” window.
The TGMA Board stated that the review period allowed artistes and their management teams to submit issues such as wrong song credits, incorrect category placements, and possible omissions of eligible works. All submissions were carefully reviewed in line with the scheme’s official guidelines.
“The Board confirms that all submissions received within the review period were duly examined with the utmost diligence and fairness,” part of the statement read.
The statement further noted that most of the complaints received were related to eligibility issues and omitted placements in certain categories. However, none of the reports were strong enough to warrant any changes to the final nominees list
The Board thanked industry players and stakeholders for their feedback, describing their input as essential to upholding the credibility of the awards.
It further reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to fairness, transparency, and integrity, while intensifying efforts to project Ghanaian music onto the global stage.
With nominations now finalised, the Telecel Ghana Music Awards will proceed to the voting phase, where fans will have the opportunity to rally behind their favourite artistes ahead of the main event, scheduled for May 9, 2026.
