Ghanaian music producer and disc jockey DJ Mensah has officially launched PlayHouse Music Studio, a new state-of-the-art facility in Accra aimed at elevating Ghana’s music production landscape.
The studio was unveiled on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at a well-attended event in East Legon, pulling in heavyweights from the Ghanaian music industry. Top artistes including Sarkodie, Reggie Rockstone, Akwaboah, legendary producer Kaywa, hit-maker Killbeatz, and several media personalities showed up in full support to celebrate the big moment.
Designed as a comprehensive creative hub, PlayHouse Music Studio features spacious rooms equipped for music production, live band rehearsals, live recording, voice-over sessions, and podcast production. The facility is also fully geared for high-definition mixing and mastering, as well as practical training on instruments such as piano, drums, and guitar for musicians and the general public.
Speaking at the launch, DJ Mensah explained that the studio was created to support both emerging and established artists while raising the overall quality of music production in Ghana.
“We have the best equipment for artists and producers to record. We are opening our doors to upcoming artists. Producers can come in, we are also selling beats,” he said.

Sarkodie, who came through to support his official DJ, showered praises on the project. The rap heavyweight called the studio a much-needed game-changer, saying its world-class setup will significantly raise the bar for music production quality across the country. He was also the first artiste to perform at the newly launched studio.
With flexible booking options and professional facilities, PlayHouse Music Studio is expected to become a major breeding ground for talent and help strengthen Ghana’s position in the global music market.
