President John Mahama has made his first ministerial reshuffle since assuming power last year by reassigning two ministers and appointing substantive ministers for the Defence and Environment portfolios.
A statement from the Presidency on Friday said the President had reassigned Works, Housing and Water Resources Minister, Kenneth Gilbert Adjei, to the Defence Ministry.
Local Government Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs Minister, Ahmed Ibrahim, MP, was reassigned to the Ministry of Works, Housing and Water Resources.
President Mahama further nominated Dr Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, the Member of Parliament for Korle Klottey, as Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation-designate.
The appointments to the Defence and Environment ministries come a year after the death of former Defence and Environment ministers, Dr. Omane Boamah and Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, who were among those who lost their lives in the tragic August 6 helicopter crash.
