Apple has unveiled its highly anticipated foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, marking the company’s entry into the rapidly growing foldable phone market.
The new device starts at $1,999 and will be available for pre-order from October 16. It features a 5.4-inch outer display that expands into a 7.6-inch inner display when opened, giving it the largest screen ever featured on an iPhone.
The iPhone Duo will be offered with 256GB, 512GB, 1TB and 2TB storage options.

Apple says the device combines a compact, passport-sized design with the performance of its new A20 Pro chip, the same processor powering the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.
“With the largest display ever on iPhone that still fits easily in your pocket, combined with the power of A20 Pro, iPhone Duo helps you stay more immersed and productive wherever you go,” Apple executive John Ternus said.
The foldable smartphone is equipped with two built-in batteries, which Apple says provide all-day battery life.
Its 5.4-inch outer display covers about 90% of the screen area of the iPhone 18 Pro and features a nano-texture finish designed to reduce glare. When unfolded, the 7.6-inch Super Retina XDR display is about 50% larger than the iPhone 18 Pro Max and also features the glare-reducing finish.
For security, the iPhone Duo uses Touch ID integrated into its side button. Apple also says users can unlock the device using an Apple Watch.
On the camera front, the Duo features the same 48MP Fusion Ultra Wide camera found on the new iPhone 18 Pro models. It also comes with a Center Stage front camera, designed to capture photos and videos regardless of the device’s orientation.
The launch positions the iPhone Duo as Apple’s most significant expansion yet into the foldable smartphone category, combining a larger display with the portability of a traditional smartphone.
