John Boadu is NPP National Chairman, See List of Newly Elected Executives

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has elected a new crop of national executives to lead the party following its national delegates conference held in Kumasi on Saturday, October 3, 2026.

Former party General Secretary, John Boadu, was been elected National Chairman, winning by 47.19 percent (2,888 votes) and beating his closest contender, Boakye Agyarko, who polled 2,408 votes, representing 39.35 percent.

Other contenders for the National Chairman slot, including Paul Afoko, who was making a comeback bid after his previous tenure was cut short following his suspension in 2015, secured 790 votes, representing 12.90 percent. Another contender, Sammy Crabbe received 41 votes, accounting for 0.67 percent of the total votes cast.

Other National Party Positions

Justin Frimpong Kodua retains his position as General Secretary.

Kojo Fosu Boadu, popularly known as Kojo Bamba, emerged as First Vice Chairman, with Henry Nana Boakye, popularly known as Nana B, elected Second Vice Chairman. Nana Akomea takes up the position of Third Vice Chairman.

Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover was elected National Organiser, while Mavis Hawa Koomson becomes the National Women’s Organiser.

Abanga Fuseini was elected National Youth Organiser, with Alfred Kojo Thompson taking over as National Treasurer.

Alhaji Mohammed Ali Suraj was also elected Nasara Coordinator.

The newly elected executives were sworn into office shortly after the results were declared, marking the official start of their tenure as the NPP’s new national leadership.

Speaking immediately after being sworn-in, party chairman, John Boadu pledged to rebuild the NPP from the grassroots and revive its winning structure.

“We must rebuild from the grassroot, through upwards, strengthen our constituency structures, empower our youth, support our women, value our professionals and listen to our traditional and religious leaders. We must embrace technology without abandoning the human relationships that have always sustained us,” he said.
