Ghanaian musician and rapper, Edem Hotor aka Ayigbe Edem has charged his colleague musicians to continue using their craft to do more to educate people about the dangers of the coronavirus pandemic.
Edem’s suggestion was in a response to a question about what is preventing musicians from composing an all-star Coronavirus campaign song to educate the public, said
“When the disease started everyone didn’t have proper grips of the situation. Some artistes have released some songs though,” Edem said sepaking in a radio interview, “but I think it’s a brilliant idea to do a song with different languages and it must be well-coordinated so as to get the messages from different artistes right on point”.
He was also quick to admit the availability of some musicians in Ghana, which he said will not hinder the project.
“Right now some artistes are not in Ghana. Because of social distancing, we can’t also be together in a studio to record, so I will let everyone do their verse and forward it to me. When the song is finally done we would have to credit you, Amansan Krakye for the idea,” he said.
Currently, several musicians are doing songs about coronavirus to educate the public about precautionary measures to adopt in order to stay safe and healthy.
