The Recording Academy has revealed the inclusion of 3,800 active musicians and industry stakeholders who have joined the Academy as part of its class membership of voters for 2025.
Following a membership invitation earlier in July, the Recording Academy added a diverse class of qualified voters from different continents to create a more globally representative body ahead of the 2026 GRAMMY Awards. Invitees must formally accept their invitation to become a member and be able to participate in the voting process for the 2026 Grammy Awards.
This year’s membership class consists of 50% individuals aged 39 or younger, 58% People of Color, and 35% women. For Africa, Ghanaian audio engineer and founder of Outluk Records, Daniel Ayittah, was officially inducted into the Recording Academy’s 2025 Member Class. Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido was also inducted as a voting member this year.
The membership class of the Recording Academy is structured into two sections: voting membership and professional membership. The voting members comprise active songwriters, producers, and engineers who are eligible to vote. On the other hand, the professional membership comprises music executives, labels, distributors, publishers, performing rights organizations, publicists, and journalists.
As members of the Recording Academy, individuals can participate in year-round initiatives, drive Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion progress through the DREAM Initiative, advocate for creators’ rights, engage with specialized wings, mentor emerging talent through GRAMMY U, and support industry peers.
The nominees list for the 68th Annual Grammy Awards is set to be presented on November 7, 2025.
