The incumbent president of Ghana, Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo has on Wednesday December 9 been declared president-elect of Ghana by the country’s Electoral Commission following a keen contest with opposition leader John Dramani Mahama.
Ghanaians went to the polls on December 7 to elect new leaders after few months of campaign by politicians.
According to provisional results by the Electoral Commission, the president secured 6, 730, 413 votes which represented 51.295% of the total valid votes cast. This figure was without the Techiman-South Constituency which is under contention.
