COVID-19: Funerals, Weddings, Other Activities Banned Until further Notice

As part of measures taken against the spread of COVID-19, Government has once again placed a ban on some social activities including funerals, weddings, parties, theatre shows and concerts.

This new measures were announced by President Akufo-Addo in his 23rd update to Ghanaians on measures taken against COVID-19.

“So, Fellow Ghanaians, until further notice, funerals, weddings, concerts, theatrical performances, and parties are banned. Privated burials, with no more than 25 people can take place, with enforcement of the social distancing, hygiene and mask wearing protocols,” President Akufo-Addo said.

Ghana’s current current COVID-19 active cases stand at 5, 358, doubling over the past two weeks where active cases was a little over 1900. The total number of confirmed deaths, as of Friday, January 29, was 416 with 172 persons severely ill.
