Some 18.7 million Ghanaians will vote today, December 7, in Ghana’s Presidential and Parliamentary elections.

Critics say this closely fought election come at a time the country is facing its worst economic crisis in a generation.

Polls are already open and voters will have up to about 5 pm to cast their votes. The two main contenders are the current vice president, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, who is running on the ticket of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), and former President John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress.
