Ghanaian music producer, Joshua Raphaelson popularly known as JMJ Baby, has revealed that ‘Hope’, a collaboration with Sarkodie, stands as the most significant record in his career so far.
Speaking on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz, the seasoned producer said the song not only reached a wide audience but also carried a powerful message that resonated deeply with fans.
“That record did something special. I love it just because of its content,” he said during the interview. The track, which features Sarkodie delivering uplifting verses over JMJ’s emotive production, became an anthem for resilience and faith during difficult times for many Sark fans.
JMJ isn’t new to crafting hits. He’s produced for nearly every major name in Ghanaian music—from Stonebwoy and Samini to Kofi Kinaata and Shatta Wale. He’s credited with some of the most recognizable sounds in hiplife and dancehall, including the “Riddim of the Gods” series, which showcased over 30 Ghanaian rappers and singers across different genres.
With Stonebwoy, JMJ worked on the ‘Inna we lane’ track—blending reggae influences with afrobeats finesse. For Samini he helped shape early hits that defined the Ghanaian dancehall sound. His chemistry with Kofi Kinaata on songs like ‘Action Time’ showed his ability to balance melody with lyrical storytelling.
Despite this impressive résumé, JMJ says ‘Hope’ remains unmatched in personal significance.
“It’s not just about the numbers. That song spoke to people. It still does.”
