The family of Ghanaian music icon, Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, paid a courtesy visit to the Jubilee House to formally inform the government of his death on August 25, 2025.
The meeting, overseen by the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, focused on discussions for the arranged burial date, paying tribute to his musical legacy and meaningful ways the state could offer support to the legendary musician.

Speaking on behalf of the presidency Mr Julius Debrah offered condolences to the family and praised the artistry of the late Daddy Lumba, whose songs resonated with people far and near.
“On behalf of the President and the people of Ghana, we extend our deepest sympathies to the family. His legacy will continue to inspire generations to come,” Mr. Debrah said. “Daddy Lumba was not just a musician; he was a national treasure whose voice, lyrics, and artistry touched every corner of Ghanaian society,” he added, while pledging full support from the presidency.
