Former Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo has filed a lawsuit challenging matters relative to her removal from office.
In an application filed at the High Court on Thursday, she wants the court to nullify all actions taken by the Justice Gabriel Scott Pwamang Committee, on whose recommendations led to her removal from office.

Her application seeks to have the committee’s proceedings declared invalid and to nullify the Presidential Warrant that effected her removal from office, describing it as illegal and of no effect.
The former CJ is also asking the court to halt the vetting and appointment of Justice Baffoe-Bonnie as Ghana’s next Chief Justice.
“An order prohibiting the denial or withdrawal of salary, benefit, courtesies and other entitlements due to the Applicant before the Warrant of Removal dated the Ist of September, 2025,” but of her reliefs said.
This would not be the first legal challenge since Justice Tokornoo was removed from office in September. She has filed lawsuits since her suspension and subsequent removal from office.
