David Nicol-Sey Teases Upcoming ‘NKWA’ Film

Ghanaian film and music video director David Nicol-Sey has announced his upcoming cinematic anthology film, “NKWA”.

The film, executive produced by Nicol-Sey and John B. Eshun, will be a collection of short feature films centered on Ghanaian childhood fantasies, wealth, love, and identity paradigms.

David Nicol-Sey posted the film’s poster on his social media on January 2, 2026, expounding on the title choice while giving away minute hints of the various plots in the collection of the forthcoming project.

“NKWA” which translates to Life will explore themes of abundance, happiness, health, tranquillity, and enduring longevity, attained through a profound spiritual connection.

The film is set to commence screening in January, with a specific date to be announced soon.

Who Is David Nicol-Sey?

David Nicol-Sey is a Ghanaian music video director and the founder of North Production, a production company that offers expertise in 3D animation, brand commercials, and films.

He is mainly known for directing exquisite music videos and advertisements for some of the biggest brands in Ghana. David Nicol-Sey is the creative mind behind Black Sherif’s “Iron Boy” album cover work, including the album cover shoot, 3D animation lyrics video on YouTube, and some of his music videos.

His notable works include Sarkodie’s “Overdose” and “Revenge of the Spartans” videos, as well as Kirani Ayat’s stunning “Guda” music video and Fuse ODG’s “New African Girl”.
