Colombian singer Shakira has given fans an exciting first look at the official theme song for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The teaser, released on Thursday, May 7, 2026, via a joint Instagram post with FIFA and Global Citizen, features stunning visuals of Shakira and dancers sporting customized jerseys of different nations while choreographing to the song, at the legendary Maracanã Stadium in Brazil.
The song, titled “Dai Dai,” features Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Burna Boy and is set to drop officially on May 14, 2026.
This marks a major comeback moment for Shakira as a World Cup anthem creator. The singer previously delivered one of the biggest tournament bangers in history with “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)” for the 2010 South Africa World Cup, a song that became a global cultural phenomenon and is still played at football matches worldwide 16 years later.
Now, Shakira has been tasked once again with delivering a fresh anthem that is expected to inspire, energize, and bring together fans across the globe for the 2026 tournament, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
