FIFA has announced that global music icons Madonna, Shakira, and BTS will headline the first-ever halftime show at a FIFA World Cup final.
The 11-minute performance is scheduled for the 2026 World Cup final on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. The tournament will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, marking the first time the World Cup is hosted across three countries.
This bold initiative draws inspiration from the iconic Super Bowl halftime shows and is being hailed by FIFA as “a historic moment for the FIFA World Cup, befitting the biggest sporting event in the world.” The show aims to blend the worlds of music and football on the grandest stage possible.

The star-studded halftime performance is being curated by Coldplay frontman Chris Martin and produced in partnership with Global Citizen It will also serve a charitable purpose by supporting the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, an initiative dedicated to raising funds and awareness to improve access to quality education for children worldwide.
The collaboration brings together some of the biggest names in global music. Shakira previously delivered one of the most iconic World Cup performances with “Waka Waka” in 2010, while Madonna and BTS represent massive cross-generational and international appeal. Their involvement is expected to significantly boost the global viewership of the final.
