In a statement shared on their social media platforms, DopeNation wrote: “We paid a courtesy visit to the President of the Ghana Football Association, Mr Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. As part of our vision to support the course, we expressed our gratitude to the president and further discussed possible avenues for a partnership, merging Ghana music with Ghana football.”
DopeNation’s visit comes at a time when public discussions about an official theme song for the Black Stars have intensified significantly. Released on October 2, 2025, “Kakalika” has rapidly emerged as a strong fan favourite and unofficial contender due to its infectious high energy, catchy rhythm, and the highly eccentric dance challenge that accompanies it.
The song’s signature dance has been widely embraced by footballers and clubs across the globe, with players from teams such as Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and PSG performing the moves during goal celebrations and in dressing rooms. This global virality has turned “Kakalika” into a cultural phenomenon, sparking widespread calls for it to be adopted as the soundtrack for Ghana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign.
