The Accra Indie Filmfest (AiF) has announced the official selection of 43 short films from 22 countries for its 8th edition, scheduled to take place from July 27 to 31, 2026 in Accra.
This year’s edition, themed “Resilience in Motion”, will feature a total of 45 films, including 43 officially selected shorts and two special screenings. The line-up showcases collections of cinematic stories from Africa, Europe, Asia, the Americas, and beyond, reflecting the realities, struggles, and creative resilience of independent filmmakers worldwide.
The five-day festival will offer a rich and immersive experience, featuring film screenings, panel discussions with Q&A sessions, masterclasses, workshops, networking opportunities, and culminating in the AiF Music Synergy Concert and Awards Ceremony.
The 2026 edition will explore powerful themes such as identity, migration, social justice, community, healing, memory, resistance, and hope. Organisers say the theme “Resilience in Motion” celebrates the enduring power of storytelling and the determination of filmmakers who continue to create despite economic, social, and political challenges.
