Oliver Tree Nickell, the American pop singer, record producer, and internet personality known professionally as Oliver Tree, has died at the age of 32.
Oliver Tree was among six people killed when two helicopters collided mid-air on June 14, 2026, in Rio de Janeiro’s Southwest Zone, Brazil, after one helicopter crashed into the parking lot of a car dealership and ignited a fire that engulfed more than 20 vehicles.
The other victims have been identified as Argentine YouTuber Gaspar Prim (also known as Gaspi), Lucas Vignale, Lucas Brito Chaves, and the two pilots, Alexandre Souza and Charles Marsillac.

Known for his signature bowl haircut and “don’t take life too seriously” attitude, Oliver Tree rose to fame in 2016 with his hit song “When I’m Down.” He built a unique career blending music with internet trolling, meme marketing, and multiple on-stage characters.
The Santa Cruz, California native released four studio albums, including “Ugly Is Beautiful,” “Cowboy Tears,” “Alone in a Crowd , and Love You Madly, Hate You Badly.” Beyond music, he gained attention in 2020 for setting the Guinness World Record for the world’s largest kick scooter.
Before his passing, Oliver Tree had recently performed in São Paulo, Brazil, on June 6 as part of his ongoing world tour. He was next scheduled to perform in Lisbon, Portugal, on July 1, followed by dates in Glasgow, Manchester, and London in September.
