Sarkodie Declares Support for Traoré in New Single ‘Ibrahim Traoré’ ft Worlasi

Having long been vocal on social media about his admiration for Traoré’s militancy, resource nationalization, and institutional reforms, Sarkodie uses the track as a personal ode to the president’s uncompromising vision of total sovereignty from Western and neo-colonial interference.

Fresh off a string of singles this quarter, Sarkodie has dropped a new revolutionary anthem titled “Ibrahim Traoré,” featuring Worlasi, dedicated to the Burkinabè leader.

Having long been vocal on social media about his admiration for Traoré’s militancy, resource nationalization, and institutional reforms, Sarkodie uses the track as a personal ode to the president’s uncompromising vision of total sovereignty from Western and neo-colonial interference.

In the verses, Sarkodie draws parallels between Ibrahim Traoré’s Burkina Faso and the broader destitution in other African nations. He eviscerates the façade of foreign aid, which he portrays as a deceptive smokescreen for resource plunder, while slamming corruption and the continent’s over dependence on the West.

The award winning rapper also addresses pressing challenges across Africa, citing the conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo, chronic power outages in Ghana, and deep social crises in Nigeria. He argues that African leaders have failed to resolve these issues.

Sarkodie warns that Western powers will attempt to demonize and undermine Traoré despite his reforms. Still, he expresses confidence that the continent will rally behind the Burkinabè leader, whom he portrays as carrying forward the ideals of earlier pan-Africanist figures.

While the rapper criticizes the complacent and self-serving attitudes of many African leaders with somewhat controversial jabs, Worlasi delivers a hook that highlights how the West has robbed Africa of its greatest political minds and resources and forced its people into slavery. Yet the message remains defiant: those chains have been broken, and the continent will stand tall as the revolution sparked by Traoré spreads to other African nations.

Released on July 18, 2026, “Ibrahim Traoré” featuring Worlasi is produced by M.O.G Beatz. The beatmaker masterfully crafts a near-haunting progression, driving percussions, and punchy kicks that perfectly balance the song’s intense lyrical tone with its overall sonic atmosphere.
