Tems Named Executive Producer for ‘Children of Blood and Bone’ Soundtrack

Nigerian singer Tems has been appointed executive music producer and curator of the soundtrack for Paramount Pictures’ upcoming action film “Children of Blood and Bone.”

Director Gina Prince-Bythewood announced the appointment during the film’s official trailer launch in New York City. This marks Tems’ first time serving as an executive producer on a major film soundtrack, a role Prince-Bythewood has described as historic for a woman at this scale.

The Grammy-winning artiste, who previously co-wrote Rihanna’s “Lift Me Up” for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, is overseeing the soundtrack’s creative direction and contributing three original songs.

Burna Boy joins the project as executive music consultant. The soundtrack also features contributions from Ayra Starr, who appears in the film, as well as BNXN and Fireboy DML. Prince-Bythewood has noted that she frequently listened to Tems and Burna Boy while writing the screenplay, making their involvement central to the film’s sonic identity. She praised the finished collection as cohesive and strong, highlighting Tems’ ability to deliver a compelling body of work in her debut as executive producer.

The newly released trailer showcases high-energy action sequences set against expansive landscapes and is soundtracked in part by Beyoncé’s “Energy.” It offers early glimpses of the story unfolding in the West African-inspired fictional kingdom of Orisha.
