An Accra High Court has granted an order to freeze five bank accounts and four landed properties belonging to Dennis Miracles Aboagye, as part of an ongoing investigation by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).
Miracles Aboagye, a former presidential staffer and aide to New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, is currently under investigation over alleged financial and procurement-related irregularities during his tenure as Executive Secretary of the Inter-Ministerial Coordinating Committee on Decentralisation (IMCCoD).
The order, issued by the court on Monday, August 3, temporarily freezes all transactions involving the specified bank accounts and restrains the sale, transfer, mortgage or any other disposal of the four properties pending further orders of the court.
Since his arrest last month and subsequent release on bail, Miracles has maintained his innocence. The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has described the investigation as politically motivated.
