The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) is expected to donate US$250,000, equivalent to about GH₵3 million, to support victims of Ghana’s June 29 devastating floods.
The funding support was announced by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, who stated that “the Foreign Ministry will hand over the entire funds as soon as we receive it in our accounts.”
I wish to announce, in the spirit of transparency and accountability, that the Foreign Ministry has just been notified by ECOWAS that they have decided to donate US$250,000.00 (about GHS3million) to Ghana for victims of the recent devastating floods.

The June 29 floods affected several people within the capital, Accra, and in other regional capitals. The floods caused destruction to at least more than 7,000 households.
