Ghana’s controversial Dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale, has once again hijacked social media trends as the video of his most talked about international collaboration hits the internet.
Even before the video could be premiered, Twitter hastags such as #ShattaIsKing and #BlackIsKing were already leading in the top spots of Twitter trends in Ghana. Celebrities and high profile personalities have tweeted words of support and love to the artiste who has been described in recent times as the true ‘king’ of Ghana music.
“ BIG MOMENT,” Sarkodie tweeted.
“The ghana flag, choreography, visuals chaii I had goosebumps watching this because you can see the research that went into it. And @shattawalegh.Shout out to @JoshuaKissi@BlitzAmbassador and all the creatives from Ghana who were a part of this. #BlackIsKing,” Celebrated Ghanaian actress, Lydia Forson, also tweeted.
Shatta Wale’s collaboration with Beyonce seems to be one of the biggest the Ghana music industry has seen since Sarkodie and Ace Hood. Stonebwoy’s collaboration with Keri Hilson has also become the talk of town recently, but not as much as Shatta Wale and Beyonce.
In just 16 hours of premiering, the “ALREADY” video has seen more than two million views.
