Tanzania President John Magufuli Transferred to India to Receive COVID-19 Treatment

Tanzanian leader, President John Magufuli, is currently in India receiving medical treatment for COVID-19, the country’s main opposition leader has revealed.

According to him, President Magufuli is in a serious condition. The main opposition leader, Tundu Lissu, who lost last year’s election to Magufuli, on Thursday cited medical and security sources in Kenya for his information.

He stated further revealed that the president had been transferred from a hospital in Kenya to India and was in a coma – but did not provide evidence, according to some news agencies.

“The Man Who Declared Victory Over Corona “was transferred to India this afternoon.” Kenyans don’t want the embarrassment “if the worst happens in Kenya.” His COVID denialism in tatters, his prayer-over-science folly has turned into a deadly boomerang!,” the opposition leader also tweeted.

President Magufuli has consistently played down the the threats of COVID-19 since the virus became a global concern. He had advocated for praying and  fasting, and home remedies such as steam inhalation as way to protect his citizens.

The Tanzanian government has remained tight-lipped about the development. Our sources say President Magufuli was last seen in public on February 27.
