Ghanaian Dancehall musician Shatta Wale, has filed a GH₵100 million defamation lawsuit against radio personality Abubakar Ahmed, better known as Blakk Rasta.
The lawsuit, issued on January 15, 2026, by Shatta Wale’s legal team (Robert Smith Law & Group), stems from a segmented video posted on Blakk Rasta’s Blakk Empire social media pages on December 15, 2025, which labelled Shatta Wale as the “Self Confessed King of Fraud” in its captioned title.
The viral video, which garnered over 150,000 views on Facebook and 27,000 views on YouTube within hours of its publication, contained scathing allegations that claimed the artiste is a ‘thief” and a “Kingpin of fraud” who worked in tandem with cybercriminals to enable them to siphon hefty sums of stolen funds through his personal bank accounts.

In the writ of summons, Shatta Wale’s legal team argues that these allegations that portrayed the artiste as a fraudster, dishonest, and a corrupt musician, are “malicious, fabricated, and deliberately calculated to scandalize, ridicule, and damage his hard-earned reputation as a brand,” in the eyes of right thinking members of society.
As a result, Shatta Wale is seeking a relief of GH₵100 million in damages and is asking the court to order Blakk Rasta to retract his comments with a mandated full-page apology published in the Daily Graphic, Ghanaian Times, and Graphic ShowBiz newspapers.
Additionally, Shatta Wale is seeking an order to permanently delete the videos and related content from social media platforms and to restrain Blakk Rasta from making further defamatory statements.
Blakk Rata is yet to respond to the writ of summons, however the case is expected to be heard by the Accra High Court.
