John Dramani Mahama, the presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and a former president of Ghana, has been projected winner of Ghana’s 2024 presidential elections.
This victory marks a return to power for Mahama, who previously served as president from 2012 to 2017.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer and leader conceded defeat to his NDC counterpart 24 hours after polls closed.
In his address to the public, the vice president said he had called former President and flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress John Dramani Mahama and congratulated him.
He also assured the former President of his full support in ensuring that peace and development continue to prevail uninterrupted.
”I have spoken to President-elect John Dramani Mahama to congratulate him on his victory. The people of Ghana have spoken, and we must respect their decision,” Dr Bawumia opined.
