Tay Keith, the producer behind some of the most popular rap and trap songs, was found dead in his apartment on Thursday, June 18, 2026.
According to Nashville police, the 29-year-old Memphis-born producer was discovered during a welfare check on Thursday afternoon.
“No foul play is suspected. He was found dead in his Martin Street apartment this afternoon by officers performing a welfare check. His death remains unclassified pending autopsy results.”

Tay Keith first rose to prominence around 2010 with his signature hip-hop and trap style. His darker, bass-heavy sound rooted in Memphis quickly caught the attention of major artistes in the industry.
The self-taught producer began making beats at age 14 and went on to work with a wide range of top talents, including Beyoncé, Eminem, DJ Khaled, Gucci Mane, and many others.
He is best known for producing Drake’s “Nonstop” and co-producing Travis Scott’s “Sicko Mode,” which earned him his first Grammy Award nomination in 2019. He received a second nomination in the Best Rap Song category in 2024 for his work on Drake and 21 Savage’s “Rich Flex.” In 2025, Tay Keith was featured on Forbes’ 30 Under 30 Music list.
